in 2005-06 kobe averaged 35.4 of his team's 99.4 pts, 35.6% of their points. their offensive rating with him on the floor was 111.3, off the floor 92.4, a +18.9 difference.

shai is averaging 32.8 of his teams 119.6 pts, 27.4% of their points. their offensive rating with him on the floor is 124.1, off the floor 110.4, a +13.7 difference.

shai may be on the track to be one of the greatest scorers ever but its a little premature to compare his career so far to other great scorers when this will be his first scoring title.

Embiid should’ve probably got Joker’s first MVP when Philly had the #1 seed in the East. Joker deserved Embiid’s MVP two years ago.
theres no argument for embiid winning the mvp over jokic that year. he played in 51 games, jokic played in 72. dont see how anyone could make the argument embiid was more impactful or had a better season considering that difference.

That was a shortened season. Also, if there was no argument, then why did he finish second? He shouldn’t have even been in the running if that’s the case.

yes it was shortened but it was still a vast gap in games played. im not saying embiid didnt have a great year in the 51 games he played but he had no shot at winning the mvp that year over jokic. he did finish 2nd, but he had 1 first place vote while jokic had 91 and i cant imagine the one voter who voted him first has a logical argument for doing so. with the gap in games played he should have finished behind steph and giannis that year too.

I love that he rarely if ever takes bad shots. He's the one guy who could shoot it 25 times a game a it wouldn't be one complaint whatsoever. But it's enough talent on the Thunder that he has the luxury of not needing to.

SGA should’ve won it last year and I’ll die on that hill. Jokic is amazing but 1 seed with that young ass team and his numbers should’ve been an automatic MVP. Analytics be damned. Jokic had an incredible season, and is currently having an incredible season, but he’s walking around with one of SGA’s MVPs. SGA better get it this year

Lowkey, one underrated trait he has that ppl don’t talk about is flexible ankles. He broke someone off something serious against the rockets and on replay, Shai’s ankle was damn near rotated to the point where it was touching the floor. I was like :why: watching the replay. I haven’t seen shyt like that ever.

Remove 06 kobe from this thread period he is nowhere near that level. 06 kobe would legit average 40+ in this era, as good as shai is kobe is far more skilled, athletic, and most importantly ruthless. That era of kobe would legit pull off a 45 ppg month with ease. 06 kobe isn't like anyone else on your list

Better Athlete no doubt.

That “ruthless shyt is subjective though. Just because a nikka snarled a lot doesn’t necessarily make him more ruthless. That’s the shyt they used to say to prop Westbrook only for him to turn into a mute when he would shyt the bed.

Let’s see how Shai actually does in big games before we determine his “ruthlessness”

And as for being “far move skilled”

Shai has so many moves and counters with god tier footwork that it’s hard to say. The level he’s on puts him up there in MJ/Kobe/Kyrie territory already.

Aside from Kobe being a more naturally gifted/talented player how are his skills superior?
