propaganda is real... after the gangsta rap era they evolved into where we at now...
the white corproate takeover is officially complete...
im not saying gangsta rap wasnt a problem....
all im saying is thats not what started the violence...
alotta them rappers was just rapping about what was goin on in the streets...
hip hop didnt make it cool for black men to kill each other over some fukkin colors... thats on the baby boomers....
alotta young kids doing codiene n all kinda other shyt cuz they hear the mumble rappers promoting it...
its like rakim said.... the music used to imitate life, now its the other way around...
Right, I feel you but in my opinion direct violence isn't the main negative effect that hip-hop has had. Matter of fact I would say that violence is the LEAST effect of the music.
I would say the MAIN effect of hip-hop on black people over the years has been how its been used to demonize and criminalize the overall image/reputation of black people.
Hip-hop has been intentionally manipulated as a form of "media propaganda" to perpetuate the most negative stereotypes of blacks to a worldwide audience much like Minstrel Shows of the past.
Its a much bigger and complex issue than simply kids playing the music and all a sudden being inspired to rob a bank or kill somebody.
This music and the images these rappers display have had an affect on the reputation of ALL black people.
Hiphop is the biggest representor of all black people worldwide and its the #1 source where people get their ideas of black people from.
"Media propaganda" is one of white supremacies most effective weapons and it helps to keep the fear and hatred of blacks going
There is a specific reason why they give rappers like 21 Savage and Young Thug large platforms. That reason is to continue the stereotype that young black males are violent, dangerous, irresponsible and overall inferior.
