Honestly, I don't fully understand all the geopolitical consequences of Russia taking over Ukraine. But here's what I've heard:
  • NATO not only provoked Russia, but purposefully broke an agreement and crossed a red line even considering Ukraine joining NATO
  • Ukraine exports a large amount of the world's grain
  • Ukraine was going to come to agreement with Russia and end the war, but some NATO countries blew up that deal and the war continued.

So if Russia takes over Ukraine, then they will have a monopoly on the world's grain supply. But also, it will be NATO's fault.

So what did I miss?

#1 and # 3 are Russian lies.

NATO expansion is a poor excuse for the war considering that : Putin did nothing when Finland and Sweden joined Ukraine and annexing Ukraine would give Russia a giant border with NATO from Finland to Turkey

And they never came that close to an agreement since Russia demanded that they downsize their military to 50k people (which would be suicide). Russia's terms guaranteed a reinvasion.

A majority of Americans are so damn stupid.

Even though Gorbachev was friendly to the West he understood the implications if NATO expanded into the Baltics and Scandinavia..NATO was A DEFENSE pact against the fukking Soviets, you think that because the USSR collapsed that the they would suddenly pack up and disband? They didn’t and the former KGB officers running Russia after the collapse instantly recognized this. Russia is resource heavy and has been a nation that’s historically interrupted MAJOR organized changes to the world order going back to the age of the Czars.

It doesn’t matter at this point though..we’re going into a global conflict either via Russia and Ukraine or Israel and Iran and all of you will finally get what you deserve.

Putin didn't do shyt when Finland joined NATO...he only cares about Ukraine being in NATO since it would eliminate the chance of them annexing it or turning it into a puppet state like Belarus

All of the above stories are crazy in their own right, but this proposal to put nooks back in Ukraine no doubt takes the cake. These mad men provoking this shiit are ... well ... straight out of the Psych Ward.

So Russia can have nukes but not Ukraine?

Ukraine and other Soviet republics gave up their nooks after fall of Soviet Union.

Putting them back on the border of Russia will just flame up hostilities that are already on fire 🔥 ....

Put it this way..... Russia is essentially arguing that putting NATO Nooks on its direct border is violation of agreements or treaties made after Fall of Soviet Union. That's part of reason Russia claims to not want Ukraine to join NATO, because it will immediately allow Nooks in the country under NATO member state agreements. So putting Nooks in Ukraine WITHOUT even being a NATO member would turn shiit way up from Russian perspective.

Peace is at stake.

Ukraine just spent another ATACMS salvo with banned cluster munitions on Russia. Biden is going to wind up getting us all killed.

I am VERY FAMILIAR with the ATACMS system..it’s an extremely complex missile system that REQUIRES trained US military personnel to operate. To be completely clear..Ukraine is NOT attacking Russia..the United States is. I’ll explain.

For one..the ATACMS missile system requires periodic course correction and continual inflight monitoring, inputted by manual operators w/ US NAT SEC access codes. Does anyone think we are just giving these codes to Ukraine?

Two..The ATACMS system uses geospatial and weather monitoring technology to self-regulate during its flight time, including minor flight-path alterations, orientation changes, altitude changes, etc. This requires the missile system to maintain a continuous uplink to US targeting systems, and NATO satellite-based guidance and recon systems.

Three..The ATACMS launch procedure requires the entry of classified US missile launch codes. Again, does anyone think the US is just going to give these codes to Ukrainian operators, in the middle of a war zone, w/ Russian military intelligence monitoring every byte of data in or out of the area?

Russia KNOWS we’re launching and guiding these missiles.

When the ok'd cluster munitions I knew something was going off the rails. Giving them F-16s and authorization to strike into Russia is nuts, can they even make a strategic difference in two months, especially with fresh DPRK troops arriving?

Now we are sending anti-personnel mines???? We trying to fukk up their countryside for generations like Cambodia?

Not a Trump fan but the Democrat embrace of the neocons by FAR has been the dumbest decision that made me look sideways at Biden (or maybe his team who is really running the admin)

If you actually want the war to end, it does require Ukraine having some position of strength. And when the opponent is someone like Russia who proudly commits war crimes on a daily basis, an ultra dovish strategy is not going to work.
