Yeah they got all weapons but to actually buck and do something is a lot harder to get done with their internal setup.

It’s not that hard. The yearly NATO training makes it a lot easier to know general things like “order of battle”, logistics, tactics, etc.

They already have chain of command, equipment, supplies, on standby. This conflict already has member states providing training rotations which means they’re already go to go. What they’ve provided so far is more than enough to hold or provide a very hard punch to whatever they’d potentially deal with. From there it’s just about getting the rest of each members states’ standing military where it needs to be (this only takes days to weeks for the our 18th airborne corps).

We already have to brigades split between Germany and Italy and the equipment to supply an armor division, plus more. They just hop on a plane, fall in on a vehicle, and get ready to move.

This ain’t including the other member states who have been waiting for this moment a long time.

At this point NATO is basically like pre-race flag nascar just driving circles around the track until someone waves the flag.

umm... do you understand how nato actually works?

do you know what article 5 is?

As of now they are definitely ready, but really want to avoid lighting the match. The posturing is partially performative, but as of now, the rotational units can really fukk up whoever is in front of them, should the need arise.

Russia is going to ''restore'' the USSR

Russian State Duma deputy Evgeny Fedorov said that the terrorist country Russia intends to "restore" the Soviet Union by occupying neighboring countries. According to him, the post-Soviet countries allegedly "illegally" seceded from the USSR.

At the same time, the United Russia Party member said that Russia had already begun to "unite the USSR" by occupying part of Ukraine. Fedorov said this in an interview with Russian propaganda media.

The MP said that Russia would have to fight all the countries that used to be part of the USSR. At the same time, the politician considers the potential occupation of post-Soviet republics to be "a return to the Soviet Union."

"Sooner or later, all former republics will conflict or fight with Russia: it's a matter of theory. Some of them will fight later like Belarus. Georgia has already been at war, as has Ukraine. This fully applies to Armenia as well," Fedorov said.

In addition, the politician said that modern Russia is the Soviet Union. He also said that the aggressor country intends to "restore the territorial integrity of the USSR."

"Russia is replacing the Soviet Union. We are the Soviet Union. Accordingly, we, as the owners of the territory of the Soviet Union, have the right to restore the territorial integrity of the Soviet Union, which we did in Donetsk, Luhansk, Crimea, etc.", the MP said.

As a reminder, Russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov is dreaming of capturing Georgia and Armenia. In his opinion, this is necessary to prevent NATO military bases from appearing in these countries.

By the way, even before Russia's full-scale invasion, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Russia plans to restore the order of things that existed during the Soviet era. However, as the statesman emphasized, this option is unacceptable.

what these mentally ill commies can't seem to grasp is maybe some of those nations don't want to be in no goddamn USSR :francis:

The source I read it from is paywalled, but it’s also in the link I was responding too. Just read lower through the updates.

They reached a deal already, and Slovakia lifted their grain ban. The headline isn’t updated yet because clicks make money. It should be in bigger font by tomorrow.

*edit to include the content of the updated cnn article
Ukraine seemingly moved to ease the rift on Thursday. Kyiv’s minister of agrarian policy said he had spoken with his Polish counterpart and issued a statement saying the pair “discussed the situation and Ukraine’s proposal to resolve it, and agreed to find a solution that takes into account the interests of both countries.”

It also agreed to establish a grain trade system with Slovakia that would enable a ban on imports of Ukrainian grain to be lifted, Slovakia’s agriculture ministry said on Thursday.
