idk shyt about mali but just found it incredibly amusing that breh's only response is "b-b-but he's so popular and has such big crowds, he can't do any wrong!" it reminds me of trump's obsession with crowd sizes and photos and how that made him the Best President Ever.
He is popular because he is fighting back against people that have been terrorizing regular Mali citizens. Al Queda and Boko Haram have spread extremist Islamic belief system through out the Sahel region in Western Africa and they are killing regular people that do not subscribe to their extreme brand of Islam. Mind you now most of the people in the Sahel are Muslim and have been Muslim for over 1,000 years, but this extreme brand of Islam has been spread into their country.
In American terms that would be like an extremist Christian minister attacking you for not subscribing to his extreme Christian beliefs. It would not be enough that you yourself were Christian. He is basically saying that you are not Christian enough for his liking. So right or wrong the people of Mali are rallying around the person that is fighting their enemies. We don't hear alot about what those extreme Muslims have been doing to Black people in Africa, but here is a little more background on it.

The West (aka the enemies of Africa) claim the Malian authorities are carrying out genocide against their own civilians with the help of Russia.

This. @Henri Christophe doesn't appear to address the main point of contention. "Did Mali allow a Russian PMC to carry out a massacre of unarmed civilians?" His answers seem to boil down to: "West bad", "Mali's leader is popular, therefore he couldn't be wrong" or , "They were likely Muslim extremists who had it coming".

Malian soldiers are literally dying on the battlefield to defend their homeland.
I'm not hearing any Russian deaths.
Its lowkey insulting to push this propaganda that its some random white dudes from Russia putting in all the work and controlling the country.
It makes black men look weak and low IQ as if we arent smart enough or capable enough to run our own governments or carry out our own military operations without some random white guy in the background pulling strings.

Mali using PMCs for dirty wetwork they want to keep at arms length doesn't make them low IQ. It makes them just like any other country. I never said Russia is running the show, I said that they have a presence. I wouldn't be surprised that there were low Russian deaths. Wagner Group is small, and likely only playing a support role.
Nap is likely trying to push this story for the anti Russian narrative, but it still is worth discussing. Are the Malians using Russian PMCs to help them kill civilians?
These jihadists commit ambushes/murders at night then go back to their villages by day and carry out a normal lifestyle. Of course the western media will say unarmed civilians were killed. Nobody except the local people knows who’s who.

I'll say this - The current regime in Mali is very transparent and very direct. They dont really operate in propaganda or fake news.
When they wanted France out - they told them "you have 72 hours to leave"
When they take an L to Jihadists - they be like "yeah we took an L yesterday... we lost dozens of men"
When they catch a win - they be like "we had a major victory and killed several rebels"
Over 2 million people have fled their homes because of these Jihadists so I really have no sympathy for them or their supporters.
And the only reason these Jihadists have so many guns is because this is the blowback from the NATO Libya invasion.
Ever since NATO killed Gaddafi - the Sahel region has been a complete mess, full of armed rebel groups.
The West caused this violence so yes - I'm gonna continue shytting on the West.
