I can't think of one time where Air power alone defeated a "near peer" Army on the ground can you think of one? Even the Isrealis never defeated the arabs soley through Air power.

The way Russia fights makes them look goofy compared to the Lightening wars we fight. But they didn't use shock and awe and try to take out Zelensky in a first strike either.

basically their logistics is fukked up and there's a huge column sitting on the road outisde of Kiyv. They are trying to encircle the city and make them surrender it hasn't worked yet. No reason to suspect it can't work in a few days the Ukrainians haven't attacked that sitting duck yet.

They did try the lightning approach first.
They sent paratroopers into Kiev and assassin squads to take out the Ukrainian president

however, they forces were neutralized by Ukrainians, hence they have reverted back to their traditional way of fighting
