The people still remember Russia helping them in their revolutionary wars. I would say that at least the majority of Africa are still sticking with Russia. It doesn't mean they agree with what Russia is doing. But they're not gonna abandon Russia like the West is trying to do.

I am in Nigeria, most people don't care. The ones that do are more sympathetic to Ukraine. Africa is a young population, the Soviet Unions role in the fight against colonizers is not that known, and ony relevant in a few countries anyway.

There isn't a great affinity for Russia. What the government votes for in the UN is irrelevant to us.
