Media with more egg on their face. They were claiming Ukrainian pilots were already in Poland yesterday shopping through their catalog.

These countries do not want to go over any line that could allow Russia to interpret their actions as an act of war. Ukraine is trying to push that this is a war against all of the EU -- every step will be taken to support them without going 'too far'.

Experts knew this was coming years ago.

There's a whole hour long lecture from John Mearsheimer explaining the same things on YouTube. I think this was inevitable. Of course the West is going to push or Ukraine to be closer to NATO, of course Russia is going to resist it. There was nothing but a lull between the Cold War and the new - whatever this is going to be. The only chance is that Putin himself is removed from office, there's no going back at this point and the military strikes against Ukraine will escalate because they can't be seen to lose this war. It would be considered the last gasp of the Russian giant.

Completely unfounded, just like Russia’s recent claim that Ukraine is trying to acquire nuclear weapons.

It's not completely unfounded.

There has been a mini civil war brewing between the west of Ukraine and the ethnic Russians on the east since the 2014 coup that removed the pro Russian government, but Putin is just using that as an excuse to invade.

I dont think Putin actually gives a fukk about that, just like he doesn't really give a fukk about nazis in Ukraine. He's trying to revive the glory days of the Soviet union and also wants access to the black sea.
