Please try to get even basically educated, Putin has been setting up this invasion for months by claiming that Ukraine is a bunch of Nazis (even though their president is literally Jewish lol) and he's "stamping out neo-Nazism". The resolution was part of that disinformation campaign.

Do you believe for even a moment that Russia gives a shyt about racists like that? That if Ukraine agreed to be best buddies with Putin that he would do anything whatsoever about supposed neo-Nazism there? One day Putin claims that Ukraine is a part of Mother Russia and never should have been a separate country, the next day he's claiming they're a bunch of Nazis...can you not see how transparent that is?

I swear some of y'all just want to whore yourselves out to these propaganda campaigns and you ain't even getting paid.

is Ukraine a big underdog in this fight?

someone put this in basketball terms
They are a second-half team. The Russians always start wars slowly. They are terrible at first and then hit their stride.

They are also like the 2000s Pistons, all defense. Historically, Russians have typically been horrible on the offensive against anyone with a pulse. Defensively and on the counter-offensive, they have been fearsome. Especially deep in their own territory where they can attack overextended supply lines and then chew up the best soldiers of entire armies. That's how they destroyed Napoleon and the Nazis.

Ukrainian border guards may have survived reported last stand on Snake Island

Ukrainian border guards who insulted Russian forces this week in a recorded exchange that went viral may not have been killed, Ukrainian officials said Saturday, contradicting an earlier claim by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine said in a statement posted to their Facebook page that the guards may be alive, after Russian media reported that they were taken as prisoners from their base on Snake Island in the Black Sea to Sevastopol, a port city that Russia controls on the Crimean Peninsula.
Zelensky cited the guards’ story Thursday while highlighting Ukrainian resistance to a Russian invasion, saying that 13 guards had “died heroically.” He said he would recognize each with the title Hero of Ukraine.

“May the memory of those who gave their lives for Ukraine live forever,” Zelensky said.

The guards’ actions drew international attention after an audio recording of their encounter with the Russians was published on the website of the Ukrainian news outlet Ukrayinska Pravda. A Ukrainian official confirmed its authenticity to The Washington Post on Thursday.

In the clip, a Russian voice warns the border guards that they will be attacked if they do not give up.

“I am a Russian warship,” a voice from the invaders says. “I ask you to lay down your arms and surrender to avoid bloodshed and unnecessary deaths. Otherwise, you will be bombed.”

The Ukrainians responded boldly before they were attacked.

“Russian warship,” came the reply, “go f--- yourself.”

Ukrainian officials said in the Facebook post Saturday that the border guards were attacked by both Russian aircraft and weapons from the ship, and that Ukrainian officials lost communication with the atoll — known as Zmiinyi Island in Ukraine — after infrastructure was destroyed. It now appears it was assumed that the guards were killed.

Ukrainian officials said Saturday that they were working to determine what happened to the guards, and praised them for digging in. It was not clear how many guards were on the island when the attack began, or if any were killed.

The border guards’ message for the Russians spread rapidly, with many comparing it to famous rallying cries from earlier wars. Maj. Gen. Mick Ryan, an Australian military officer, compared it to “NUTS!” a response that then-U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Anthony McAuliffe sent to Nazi forces who sought an American surrender during the Battle of Bastogne in World War II.

“Today, none of us will ever forgot what these servants of their nation did there,” Ryan wrote.

The Kyiv Post reported Saturday that the message for the Russian ship appeared on a digital road sign hanging over a Ukrainian highway.
Paul Sonne contributed to this report.

Trump fans are just as pathetic as he is. The revisionist history they engage in is comical. They paint a picture of this clown that is completely detached from reality. It's either willful ignorance or just plain stupidity. It's embarrassing, really.

Their whole angle now is to push the false narravative that Trump would have prevented this war.

A reminder for you Trump fans:

1. Trump's campaign manager was a pro-Putin stooge who previously helped the Kremlin install a puppet government in Ukraine.

2. Trump had the Republican Party Platform changed to water-down support for Ukraine.

3. Trump attempted to extort Zelenskyy by refusing to provide assistance to Ukraine if Zelenskyy didn't go along with a made-up Biden Scandal (remember the first impeachment?)

4. After Russia was expelled from the G8 for invading Crimea, Trump repeatedly praised Putin on the world stage and publicly stated that he wanted Russia back in the G8.

5. Trump publicly stated that he trusted Putin more than he trusted U.S. intelligence agencies.

6. Trump repeatedly undermined NATO to the point where he was threatening to completely pull the U.S. out of the treaty, which would have been Putin's dream scenario.

7.
Less than a day after Putin ordered Russian troops to enter parts of Ukraine he claims are independent, Trump went on a conservative radio show and called the move "genius."

Lmao at the notion that this clown would've prevented this war. AT THE VERY LEAST, he was Putin's useful idiot. If he were still president, dude would probably have U.S. soldiers fighting alongside Russian soldiers. Lmao

All these "bat-signal" Trump memes and nonsense coming from Trump supporters is pathetic. Leave it up to his supporters to paint this clown into something he definitely was not.

I rather have Biden's calm demeanor in the WH during this time over a deranged, mentally unstable man who completely panicked and fumbled during the initial stages of the Pandemic.

Ok...this shyt is becoming war of the memes. Hope that the war is over and yadda, but this shyt is getting corny and pointless now:camby:

No different from every war ever. Before social media all the propaganda was on broadcast television, before that they showed the films in the movie theater, before that they used to pass out leaflets. Every single war has heavy propaganda effort from both sides and this is just the current medium.

The stupid fukking thing is so many people in this thread just immediately regurgitating whatever propaganda narrative they see on social media without even doing the basic due diligence to understand if it's true or not or what the background is. They're literally pawns, and this thread is full of them (on both sides).

We've been seeing this dumb shyt in any thread where fools base their viewpoint on social media posts rather than any sort of serious research, but in a war where shyt happens fast and can't be verified immediately it's even worse.

Didn’t realize this.

:ohhh:.....

Republicans are trying to use Zelensky's positive image to score political points against Biden as if they weren't letting Trump falsely trash his reputation left and right just two years ago just because Trump wanted manufactured Hunter Biden dirt.

I mean Trump was literally withholding military aid from Ukraine for his own personal political agenda, and now they want to pretend they've always loved the guy?
