I hear you but It’s not about winning. It’s about slowing them down and hurting them enough to bring them to the table. It’s not a new strategy. They could have ran day 1 and been cut off/surrounded before they got to Poland or Romania. And history shows the citizens will still get fukked over.
There is nothing fair about combat and all the thinking and talking we’re doing is only helping us pass the time and/or bring context to the situation for people who have never actually been in combat.
Their only choice is to react to what’s directly in front of them until they’re overrun or there are negotiations.
There’s an ocean’s difference in symbolism between cutting and running or fighting regardless of all the uncertainty. The response to the Georgia invasion proved that Fighting hurts Putin a lot worse than laying down everything. If they hold on enough it may even get the Wagner group the fukk up off the African continent.
And I wanted to add that I can empathize with your empathy for the civilians in the way but that’s up to them and their collective pride. Cause history shows that shyt will be stomped out if they give up and accept a complete administrative change.
