This whole invasion is a shot across the bow of the west, one the west saw coming. Yet now, their response looks anything but unified.
The next few weeks are huge. Will Putin back down? Will he take the entire country? Will he kill Zelensky? Will the west call Putin's bluff and expand NATO? Will they mass forces on Ukraine's border?

A unified response is definitely more preferable,
but you do know you can say the exact same thing about Russian public opinion and government fracturing over this issue right? Nearly or all of Putins lawmakers condemned the action, he has protests in every major city, etcWhy does NATO just look weak when the only reason Ukraine wanted to join NATO was because they were attacked in the east by russian forces and separatists. And the only reason they attacked Ukraine was because wanted more trade ties(not even join NATO lmfao just more trade ties) with the west.
Putin literally started this war because Ukraine wanted less to do with Putins povery bloc. Now Putin will gain Ukraine just to lose the Baltic, get sanctioned out the ass and make NATO even more powerful in the end.
So by all means, NATO has time on its side in this issue no matter the outcome of this war.
