I’m not sure how you can post this after the Colonial pipeline hack 8 months ago.

Kronos ransomware attacks on hospitals in December.

The private sector is super vulnerable just because of how globally connected is. You don’t need to attack an American computer to attack an American company when they have offices across the globe.

You can repel conventional warfare and win. Cyber attacks don’t stop because you “ win” on Tuesday
I haven’t gotten a correct paycheck since dec because of Kronos…shyt putting me into debt

You'll be in for a shock. Private industries and a lot of government cybersecurity funds are anything but well funded. They do what they have to as it relates meeting the bare minimum as far regulatory requirements and only AFTER an incident do they invest in more measures.

Also a lot of high profile breaches in the US weren't as high end as you'd expect given the sensitivity of what these organizations handle. That water treatment plant hack in Florida was because didnt change a default password. Target's breach of credit card info was because they gave elevated access to the operators of some systems used by HVAC folks (the last people who need root level access) and they were able to access every cash register in the country.

I could tell you some shyt about my place of work...

I definitely agree. But the argument was whether we would be blindsided by a Russian cyberattack in the same way we were by Covid.

I don’t think he expected them to lay down altogether. But I’ve seen that 3/4 of his military is there or something like that. Plus Libya, Iraq, and Afghanistan didn’t have American communities already in their borders. That’s a little different

This post is riddled with opinions...
1. Too early to say Putin has been outmaneuvered
2. US and Nato is no the "Entire World"...Some see Nato's advancement as long term aggression same as Russia does
3. Nato and US have backed down by categorically saying they aint sending troops after grandstanding the past month as if they would stand with Ukraine

1. I mean of course. I don't work for any intelligence agencies, but looking at what is gained vs. lost by Russia, I don't see any world in which occupying Ukraine (costing blood & treasure they can't afford) while being cut off from the West economically is an actual desired outcome for them.

2. "Some see Nato's advancement as long term aggression same as Russia does" sure. but people don't generally think Country A should get a say in what defensive treaties Country B should join. If you think people are saying entertaining Ukraine joining NATO is as provocative as Russia invading Ukraine, you're probably talking to a lot of Russia apologists.

3. This isn't backing down at all actually. The US & Nato has no legal standing to attack Russia here without a UNSC vote (which is toothless and creates its own problems as seen w/ Yugoslavia). That would be a clear escalation vs. an expected/treaty-determined defense.
