Because of the schedule changes, I have more time to read than I thought.

Just finished Citizen by. Claudia Rankine; Solitary by. Albert Woodfox; and Fearing the Black Body by. Sabrina Strings.

Doing a second read of Cedric Robinson's Black Marxism; and will read through portions of Capital by. Thomas Piketty again.

Back in August we did a critical reading and thinking discussion on that book. We were about to do a part two before Corona hit. I’ll link the video for the first one when it’s uploaded.

Just finished: Overthrow by Stephen Kinzer

Now reading: How to Kill a City by Peter Moskowitz

Thank you - we need a HL or The Root section on Black Leftist writing - Cedric Robinson's anthropology and African Liberation, plus a lot of Cornel West, Huey Newton, DuBois, and Lorenzo Ervin. Even James H. Cone.

Yeah, the critical thinking/reading series was one of the best new additions to Sankofa. We had Howard professors giving analysis on different books and authors. We did Black Marxism, George Jackson, Amiri Baraka, Toni Cade Bambara, Frantz Fanon, etc. Can’t wait til everything is uploaded.

Written by Nigeria's former Coordinating Minister of Economy. She had some good ideas about how to clean up the Nigerian economy and cut a lot of the government excess. Ultimately, the power behind the power led to uneven implementation of some of her policies. The bottom book was written during the GEJ presidency, the top during PMB's 1st term.

Fam, are these books worth reading? Not only for someone who wants to understands Nigeria politics but also to draw lessons for other black countries?
