I understand that Black Socialist aren't anything new but for whatever reason (I'm still yet to draw a conclusion) they're more visable to me now. So I decided to read some of their literature, came across Black Bolshevik by Harry Haywood.

I got through 2/3rds of the book before having to skip to the end, no bueno. He was extremely critical/skeptical of Black movements of his day, whilst cosying up with his 'comrades'.

I don't want to spoil the rest for those who want to read it but he's eventually expelled from the CPUSA, Lol. I feel like I've read this story a million times, the plot may slightly differ but the outcome is always the same.

Anyone recall what the name of that large ass thread with all the African American books on Google Drive was? I can't recall but been looking for it lately.

Just finished reading "The Half has never been told" By Edward Baptiste.

Absolutely AMAZING book.

Crazy how they had the slaves walking those long trips. The author was very detailed in this book. I have to pick it back up. I stopped in the middle or Jefferson presidential term, I think that's when those banks were being created where in the book they talk about. I think I may start over with the read.

Most definitely do that. Book goes into detail as to how negroes were essentially the foundation of the US economy from 1800-1870. Absolutely everything in this fukking nation was built off of negroes, especially the banking and credit system.

Plus he details alot of the valiant negroes that rallied against the slavery system, most of them to their death. This book is absolutely essential reading for any black person looking to a better understanding of how important blacks were to development of this racist nation.

Without black folk USA would be Russia.
