So this book is coming out in the US soon, "Small Country" by Gaël Faye

Was a huge success in France, writter is a very talented rapper first and foremost and went into his childhood back in Burundi with the rwandan genocide looming in the background. It has it flaws as a novel, but def worth the read and since I think not many francophone authors get translated to english I though it would be worth it to post it here :yeshrug:

For Black History Month I'm reading Reconstruction: America's Unfinished Revolution, 1863-1877 by Eric Foner. Been meaning to read this for years but only finally got to it this month. Written in 1988, it finally put to bed most of the previous, flawed broad historical schools on Reconstruction, which often were racist, sympathetic to the Confederacy and wanting on primary sources.
