I see why London is still that Western city for African affairs. The time difference in the US is a killer, hence why I think the East Coast is the best coast. The West Coast is too far removed...

In the Luba tradition, when a son becomes of age, he selects for himself a name to be added to the given birth name. Such names are referred to as mêna bulungu (singular: dîna dya bulungu). In the Congolese identification system, the latter name is called postname. In the examples above from the Luba, Ngoyi wa Muadi named himself Kabwina. From then on he was called Ngoyi Kabwina. Kabwina is his maturity name. Ngoyi is a man. Men become adults at adolescence. Mbuyi is a woman. A woman acquires maturity through birth giving. When Mbuyi got married and gave birth to a child called Kalenga, she became Mbuyi mwa-Kalenga, which means Mbuyi mother of Kalenga. Mwa-Kalenga is her motherhood name. The Kongo and many other African ethnic groups hold formal initiation ceremonies for adolescent children. The candidates undergo several weeks or months of training, often in isolated locations away from the village, and are given initiation names upon successful completion of the training program.

Looks like a cool place. I really wanna travel to South Africa, but im worried the planet wont let me leave that place once i get there. :francis:

I swear this racism thing gets beyond annoying. Its embedded into places it really shouldnt matter. I mean France just admitted to having a super, steroid fueled, trans-athlete-in-women's sports level COVID variant and they dont get travel restrictions.:beli:
