For example - topics related to Africa - (list of sources), African American history - (list), Community Leaders - (....), historical societies - (.....), children's history (.....), blacks in education (....) etc etc.

How did the LGBT movement eclipse the Black movement in such a short time span? It’s pride month and it’s damn near impossible to go anywhere without seeing the pride symbols. Rainbow themed clothes at Target, Uber has my route rainbow coloured, and last year BoA turned their app into rainbow colours etc. Even my company is getting a booth/stand at the DC pride festival this weekend.

The Stonewall riots were 50 years ago and the progress since then has been immense.

I don’t see other corporations jumping on the bandwagon for Black History in the same fashion.

You could argue that Blacks have gotten into the white house, although some also would argue that Obama was more “mainstream” friendly. It’d be different if he had two Black parents and went to an HBCU like Howard or Morehouse before going to Harvard Law. His “blackness” wouldn’t be questioned. I digress.

Same reason feminism is big in the west : both issues affect directly white people (white homosexuals, and white women). Black issues, per definition, don't affect white people. That's why for a black woman or black homosexual it's far more "profitable" business or politically-wise to align on those issues than push hard for Black issues. Also both are often used as yet another tool to go against Black people and Muslims : used to be that we were savages, now it's that we're homophobes and sexist.

Here in France I've read/heard non-mainstream gay activists or feminists, and their discourse is very different from what you'll hear everyday. Obviously they're hardly ever invited in the media lol (for example, they see what the whole "pride" thing is for most businesses : a form of "pink-washing" and a capitalist way to cash in on that movement. Another example also is how Israël promotes itself as a gay-friendly destination, in order to appear "progressive" while bombing Palestinians. When they won Eurovision last year was a perfect example of this : the singer -who had sung for the army couple years back whe they killed hundreds of civilians- won with a metoo-themed song)

Question: What can be done to decrease the number of black children not born into a committed 2 parent household?

Context: I was at a diner late night last night and saw this one lady come to the counter. Looked like she just left the club and was visibly tipsy. Anyway, we chatted for a bit. She worked as a nurse, went to an all white party and was getting some chicken strips for her daughter.

Said she was getting her daughter for the 2nd half of summer and this was her last hurrah for the summer.

Just got me thinking. This isn't the ideal way to raise a child, but I see this all too frequently. One of the teams I work with has 5 black women as single mothers (out of 9 people). 1 has two kids from 2 different fathers.

How and where can this be remedied.

But I will keep it 100, I can understand why they want the usa/west to keep the global hegemony.

Lotta black folk whether their ados or black immigrants... don't actually want to destroy the west/usa. Look at everything whites/west have done, and a large percentage... maybe a vast majority of black folk don't actually hate them.
Lotta ados just don't want to be fukked over anymore. Lotta black immigrants are just tryin to get escape bad situations. Lotta black folk just want a slice of the pie and don't mind whites being at the top. An oppression that's not oppressive I guess.




And then there are the one's who don't mind the end of the west/usa. But they ain't trying to live through the global storm period...so they want the can kicked for as long as possible.
