The Myth of the Kindly General Lee
Lee had beaten or ordered his own slaves to be beaten for the crime of wanting to be free, he fought for the preservation of slavery, his army kidnapped free blacks at gunpoint and made them unfree—but all of this, he insisted, had occurred only because of the great Christian love the South held for blacks. Here we truly understand Frederick Douglass’s admonition that "between the Christianity of this land and the Christianity of Christ, I recognize the widest possible difference."

In the ancient Egyptian language, there is a term transliterated as /Ax/ "spirit." It refers to the deceased ancestors who lived an exemplary life. There is a homograph (a word written with the same characters as another word in the same language, but has a different meaning than the other term) that is transliterated as /Ax/ "beer; wine; alcohol." Now, do you think it's a coincidence that we call alcohol "spirits" in the U.S.? See, the White man doesn't want you to know your history and to connect with the ancestral realm. I encourage everyone to take a shot of Patrón in honor of the ancestors tonight (of course in the safety of your own home).

@MansaMusa @The Wave

Igbo finna be extinct :ohhh:?

Its crazy if you go to Nigeria nowadays, most young people will respond in English to Igbo.

I personally have been relearning Igbo on my own with books and classes because my parents failed us :yeshrug:
They thought that we would have a better chance to get ahead if they only spoke English to us when we came to America. So they only spoke Igbo to each other and English to us.

Its funny because I can remember my older siblings and I speaking Igbo as late as when I was 5 years old. My sister doesn't even remember Igbo at all.

Man... you can completely forgot an entire language if you dont use it.
