It's the reboot I've been waiting for

Yeah I don't think this movie is going to fly.
On top of that, how can you remake it to appeal to nostalgia but ghost the main character from the first and replace him with a PC black Mary Sue type character.
We won't even get into the joke of why a black american woman would actually side with the US over commies at the time.

It's not necessarily going to be a Mary Sue character. That's going to depend entirely on the writing.

And the premise is that 6 years have passed since the original and Cliff has gone missing. It's named "The Rocketeers", so the new female character will probably find him and the two will go through the movie as a duo.

lets be real when they say" a young African–American female pilot" , do they really mean a young mixed/biracial/multiracial/Mulatto female pilot?

we will just have to wait and see Zendaya bout to be the new rocketeer

Zendaya is too young but yeah. Every time I read they are looking for a "African American female" I envision some light skinned biracial.

However I think because of her relationship with Disney Lupita Nyongo will likely get the role.
