Hated the movie when I was a kid and saw it in the theater.
If they can make it better I'm all for it, but I think the era of this type of movie is dead.

Not necessarily. It's a comic book movie set in the cold war. It can happen
Yeah I don't think this movie is going to fly.
On top of that, how can you remake it to appeal to nostalgia but ghost the main character from the first and replace him with a PC black Mary Sue type character.
We won't even get into the joke of why a black american woman would actually side with the US over commies at the time.

You're assuming what the movie will be like before you've even saw it breh. Already know what type of character she'll be and everything, Impressive.

Seriously though, you'll get the group who does look at the movie fondly and just wants another one and has been asking for another one for the past 20 years. And since Billy isn't of the age any studio would cast him as the lead anymore, what makes sense is to make it a legacy role. If they recast him, then you'd possibly have a bigger mess on your hands rather than just continuing the story into another era. It's the smart play. Plus you get an entirely new demographic and audience for your movie

Yeah I'm assuming because thats the general jist of these modern action movies with female protagonists.

I'm sure if they say its 6 years after the original people will understand a recast, it isn't like Billy Campbell is beloved, recast him with a star and then to a passing of the torch or something, but thats my take.
We'll see what happens as time goes on and the story progresses.

Off topic but kinda on topic, i remember being a kid not knowing how studio movie right work and wanting the phantom, the shadow, the rocketeer, tarzan, and Indianan Jones to do. A big ass cross over movie with them fighting Bram Stoker's Dracula & natzi vampires on some 1940's-1950's avengers type shyts as a kid i thought that would be the illest shyt ever put on screen, The closet thing i got was The Mummy/ The Mummy Returns and league of extraordinary gentlemen.

The Shadow was official!!! :banderas:
Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?:sas1: The Shadow knows!:sas2:

Real talk Lamont Cranston A.K.A. The Shadow is one of smoothest superhero to ever do it, truth be told gave Bruce a style to run with the original dark knight, like the big home bane told bat's before that beatdown 'Oh, you think the darkness is your ally, you merely adopted the dark. I was born in it, molded by it'

dame we need them to reboot the shadow movie franchise with a great leading man

I saw this in theaters in 91, which is odd to remember, as I was only 6 years old, I remember I loved the movie, anything with guns, fighting, action, I think I had a little book too. I watched it maybe 6 years ago on Sci Fi, and it's somewhat unwatchable.
