Clearly. Nothing left to prove, and didn't even need to return those previous times. He did it on his terms and not cause he was washed and desperate for a last payday and rush of attention. The Rock hasn't needed the WWE for years, but the WWE has continued to thirst for Rock day in and day out.

Rock and Austin both went out without a lot of fanfare of a "Last Match" angle. Crazy.

Austin retired before last matches were this big affair like they’ve become. Rock could’ve had a huge sendoff but I think the plan was always for him to come back and work with Brock or Roman but it never happened
