Last episode I was questioning the Rock being so young yet Sting coming in to the territory as part of the NWA. Sting ain’t join until NWA full time until 87 and was far from the top name at that point. Rock would’ve been 15 by 87.

That's the only name that made sense to me. The time frame is right around the time HBK was out injured. Also better explains his beef with HBK compared to the story he always gave about HBK being a dikk to his grandmother when they were younger.
