No if you continue reading i gave you an example of a popular action movie about an assassin in the very next sentence.
Simply pointed out that the trend now is superheros, Not that you can't be a cop or assassin anymore. (which i proved that you can)
My Points in a nutshell for you: 1) Action movies never died they are as popular as ever. 2) Action stars never went away they just do different types of action movies. 3) The Rocks career has been largely successful, but he doesn't have any classic films because his movies are too family friendly and he is not suited for those roles as well as a comedian like Chris Tucker or somebody.
I asked this in my original post and I am still waiting...Who is the modern Arnold/Sly? Who is bigger and more successful than the Rock right now, doing strictly R Rated action movies (plural) that are sold on their star power not source material, franchise or studio?
The classic thing is your deal. Classic is a very subjective thing that is impacted by timing, society, reach, and the quality of the work. There are classic family movies. What's more of a classic... Faster, Snitch, Walking Tall, Scorpion King, Helicopter, Skyscraper, or Moana? I don't know what your answer is but I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt what kids ie the people that will be determining what is classic in the future will say. Would Rock have the status he has right now without the likes of Moana and Central Intelligence and Jumanji? Beyond all that has the way that he moves not made it obvious that he is more focused on money and status than making classics? He's not a 90s rapper
. It's nikkas with classics that no one knows or cares about that ain't got shyt. I am not judging or belittling them just making a point about priorities. You can't project your priorities on to the next man. For better or worse it's obvious what his priorities are.

Breh...come on. They both do strictly R rated action movies? You already acknowledged the obvious fact that Tom moves different from those dudes. Keanu obviously does too. It's ok to concede the point and KIM.
You the only one that is acting like i said the need to exclusively do rated r films. My stance has been the classic action films are always Rated R. two different points.
The Rock will never do a movie like Collateral or John wick and that's why he has zero classics. Arnold didn't do exculsively Rated R films in his prime. but there was a clear difference in acclaim. Conan 1 rated R classic, Conan 2 rated pg 13 trash

Isn't there a clause in the Rock's contracts that he can't take an L in an action movie? If true that was one of the biggest reason why Black Adam was so bad and if he were to do an R rated action movie, it won't be written properly if you can't do a "hero's arc".. Batman gets his azz kicked but comes back in the third and final act and kicks ass. The Rock is the same guy at the beginning of the movie and at the end. Nothing to overcome, no L's just treasure hunts, CGI, with jokes thrown in.
