At this point is Dwight really that much better than asik? Can we say Dwight in his prime and asik isnt even near his yet?

I know what kind of player Howard is i just felt how the lakers organizaton clowned him i thought he would come with more of a chip on his shoulder and dominate....so far i see none of that and that Lakers game when he was running like a Ho was alarming..i just wanna see how the team do in the playoffs when its do or die.

defense is still bad
Mchale seems like he scramblin out there at time
we need a pure point guard
freethrow shooting

that NEEDS to be taking care of ASAP

yea, i agree. perimeter defense is so bad it almost negates dwight's presence as an impact defender b/c the opposing team feels right at home launching high percentage 3s.. sure these teams will go on droughts and houston will build a lead but that shyt will dissipate just as quickly when they start heating up again... assuming houston builds a lead during the calm b4 the 3pt storms.

and while lin was good last night, i agree with you 100% on the need for a pure point guard.. more so than i feel they need a "stretch 4". They got enough shooters imo, what they dont have is any discipline.

in fact there was a crazy rumor just yesterday on yahoo news about a Rondo for Asik swap. Now a lot more would have to be offered on Houston's part for Ainge to do anything other than laugh at the thought but i do hope houston pokes around and explores all such options out there b4 confining themselves to just trading for the first available stretch 4

Once we start hitting the threes again we'll be aight.

We lead in every game this season except the first clipper lost.

Mchale has to get criticsm for not fixing the perimeter defense. The biggest issue isn't the penetration but the rotation on the perimeter. Make more than 2 passes and your guaranteed an open shot against us

So who do y'all want in return for Asik and who are y'all cool with packaging Asik with to get them?

Lamarcus and Love would be my targets 1a and 1b but those two are probably a longshot and a virtual no shot respectively. It would take a perfect storm and at least one other team to get Lamarcus (or maybe a LA trade demand) and the timing isn't right to begin to talk about making a move for Love. Maybe things change with Portland near the trade deadline but I'm not sure how long Morey is willing to wait with Asik making these trade requests and not even contributing in games.

Some of the names I've seen rumored: Millsap, Ilyasova, Ryan Anderson, Rondo...

I like Ilyasova a little more than Anderson but I'd be reasonably cool with Anderson too. Not sure if New Orleans wants to give up that outside shooting but they'd be nasty inside with Asik and the brow. Millsap seems like a great fit for a number of reasons. If we go the Millsap route we would still be in position to be in the mix for Aldridge and Love also. I don't think Rondo is a good fit on or off the court.
