surrounding howard with shooters has worked in the past. and honestly I feel like he wouldn't mesh well with a low post scorer because people would play off him. and the paint would be too clogged up for harden and lin to take advantage of their abilities in penetrating.
Sure but houston already has enough shooters and a pretty good small ball lineup with 4.casspi 3.parsons(or garcia) 2.harden 1.beverly (or lin) surrounding dwight at the 5. And that past shyt with dwight+shooters worked against flawed teams with flawed big men like Lebron's Cavs and 40+ win hawk/philly/bobcat teams.. but fell apart when goin up against well crafted title contenders like the celtics and the lakers... and houston is gonna face more well crafted title contenders this year than orlando did in '09 or '10.
Aldridge would work imo because he can be a solid 15-20 foot shooter, so when him and dwight start off games at the 4 and 5, they can easily run those high low big men reads that gasol and zbo do, where LA flashes to the top of the key during a dwight post up and has an easy jumper or an easy dump down to dwight. Not to mention LA can also do a pick and pop, which makes things more spread out for harden and the other houston guards.
And of course, when howard is out and LA is in dolo, thats when he can actually have the low post to himself.. and have the aforementioned small ball shooters around him...
but like its been mentioned, that would be the dream trade thats unlikely to happen unless something absolutely crazy goes down in portland
