Krack I worked on some of the things we were talking about today and will be for the rest of the week. Which will be around the time of my next joint. Also trying to get some work on the front pivot. Also what @Yuzo called the Cuban in and out move I forget the name.

Yeah I saw he mentioned the pushing off the back foot stuff I did
I don't like to go off of heavy bag stuff too much though I know everyone looks at it differently some people use it for straight up power, some like to use it just like they would sparring/fight so
Bout to put some Mrs Krack up too while family got hands we giving work like the Bundys out chea
comment on what you think needs fixing or any mistakes you see brehs, ain't no ego here and im always looking to improve
Since switching to the old school gloves like @Yuzo recommended I haven't had ANY hand problems.....I'm from the school of using the heavy bag like actual sparring/fights more so than using it for punching power or whatever. Not saying it's better or anything just my personal preference I'm scared that if I use it flat footed n disregard defense to land power shots on it shyt might become muscle memory n if I get buzzed during sparring I might start to box that way off of instinct.
Anyway gym was empty so no sparring today but I tried to use some of the stuff Yuzo said in regards to sneaking in rights on the heavy bag since I couldn't go live.
you have a wide stance and that can make it a lot harder to transfer your body weight from leg to leg when you punch. when you throw your right hand your front leg is in front of you and your body weight cant go over it.
try to get your front leg under you. to transfer your body weight over your front leg when you throw a right hand your upper body has to move over your front leg and it cant when your front leg is too far in front of you.
try to remember that when you punch what you are trying to throw is your body weight not your hand.
however i think you were probably just trying to steal your right hand here. thats ok. but this is an ineffective way to try to steal a right hand.
you are too far away and your right hand is not going to come out very suddenly.
try stealing your right hand from a front foot pivot. to enter into a front foot pivot transfer your body weight over your front foot and get the heel of your front foot under your front shoulder.
now you are not going to be as far away and your right hand can come out a lot more suddenly.
try throwing your pull counter from a front foot pivot.
when you turn you can merge it into circular movement
heres how to jab and to maintain constant circular movement
push off of your back foot sliding your front foot forward in the same motion. remember when you push off of your back foot always simultaneously extend your arm in one smooth motion. now press down on your front foot and slide the heel of your back foot over to your left. now press down on your back foot and slide the heel of your front foot back into alignment with the heel of your back foot. now you dont have to always start and stop your circular movement to jab. now youre boxing beautiful.
your son does a lot of things that look really good but he really seems to understand distance and thats very hard to teach. your son has something. does your son do any boxing training?

wish I could rep you again
god damn that's a lot to take in gonna have to hit the lab w my pen and my pad. I think the wider stance might be a bad habit I picked up from trying to land the jab downstairs going to def work on that....edit come to think of it the jab downstairs might be it I think it should limit it to 1 punch with that step n bringing it back instead of trying to flow after it? could that be it?
Youre right on the stealing the right stuff as far as how I was throwing the right hand, that's what I had in mind today really I wanted to try some of that stuff live but the gym was looks like it might have been a blessing in disguise
As far as lil man the only boxing stuff he does is with me....I take him to a few gyms in the summer and have him spar a bit but he isn't big on boxing at all, he just kind of does it because I do. Wrestling is his thing n I don't want to be one of "those parents".
I had to sneak in some boxing on some "it will help you stay in shape during the off season " so I have him hitting the pads or run some defense/footwork drills.
His distance and timing is from the wrestling imo, that was the first thing I noticed when he started to do it, a lot of the foot work is the same as boxing. Never cross your feet, always on the ball of your foot, if you are on your heels you are one step closer to being taken down in wrestling. Emphasis on circling instead of pulling back, attacking at angles etc he has pretty good ring iq because he asks a lot of questions. Like when we do watch fights he likes to know why certain things are effective as opposed to wanting to know how to do things if that makes any sense.
appreciate the help breh ill rep you again once I spread some more out
