this front pivot
@Yuzo nikkas thinking I'm switching my weight back to my back foot but I really shoot a right hand and slide out the back.
yeah thats exactly how to use a front foot pivot.
when you throw your right hand and you are trying to come out one way you can do that is you can swing your back leg forward and bend at your waist. this is going to get your legs under you and make sure that you wont be countered on the way in or on the way out. when your legs are under you can just hop away out of range.
heres a very young roy jones stealing a right hand that way.
you can hop out of range to your left or you can hop out of range to your right
My only issue is that I can't really put a lot into the jab like this it feels awkward
when you are entering in and out of your front foot pivot to work your jab and your body weight is back over your back foot, you can push off of your back foot and enter into your front foot pivot to jab again, or you can push off of your back foot and slide your front foot forward in the same motion and jab that way instead.
when you push off of your back foot to jab and your front foot is planted your front foot is going to brake your forward momentum that you are generating with your back foot.
but when you push off of your back foot to jab and you slide your front foot forward in the same motion you are releasing that brake and your forward momentum is going to shoot your jab out like a 2 x 4 coming out of a window.
this is a really good way to work your jab to the space in front of the head and to the head because when you are entering in and out of your front foot pivot and pushing off of your back foot there is no way to know what jab you are going to try to throw.
