Make Sure You applied directly.

It could be a recruiter from an Agency that has your resume

I had a phone interview with a representative from a recruitment center. They said then they would forward my information over to the hr and they would have a decision by the end of this week. I have applied for this company before and its always the same results. Then when I apply again they always schedule a phone interview. I dont get it:yeshrug:

Is it realistic to get a permanent job from an employment agency if you want to re-locate? I don't mean an $11/hour job either, something to further your career.

Perhaps my best work :obama:

Notes:

- Please ignore the messed up capitalization (Debt and Equity) in the last paragraph :mjpls:
- I left some info in there to show you how I personally format my letterhead and what not
- Make sure your letterhead and font/overall theme in the cover letter is the same as it was in the Resume/Transcript (if required)
- Don't only focus on skills. Some jobs require personality traits as well, for instance in I-Banking youre required to work 80 hour weeks. I took a risk and listed my experience working factory graveyard shifts to show them that I really had that drive and propensity to work long, dreadful shifts in fast paced environments without any complaining (among other things).

I really wanted that job :bryan::to:

A cover letter should never be this long.

Overall when you're writing cover letters keep them short and straight to the point. Only talk about one job position you feel is most relevant to the job you're applying for. It's unnecessary to talk about more than one job because your resume already details the experience you have. Cover letters really aren't as important as they seem. They have the power to hurt you but they won't help you. Your resume matters the most.

My advice to anyone who needs help writing a resume, cover letter, thank you letter, etc is to check out a book at your library that will teach you how. Not only will it improve your writing skills, it'll prepare you if you make it to a job interview. I also recommend getting a common asked interview question book. That way you'll be ready for any type of question asked during your interview.

That cover letter isn't long. It's essentially 3 paragraphs.

That being said, I wouldn't say it's a particularly good cover letter because it's basically a recitation of experience with no overall narrative.

The first paragraph should already establish why you want the job and what characteristics you feel are important. Then, you list experiences that reflect THOSE characteristics. You don't just bombard them with one experience after another and say, "this taught me this, that taught me that."

The third paragraph is just a total non-sequitur.
