“Populism” while advocating tax cuts for the wealthy and cutting your healthcare. Stop it. And fukk the white leftists who keep parroting this bullshyt. It’s hilarious how when republicans are involved, suddenly they can’t discern pandering or bullshyt lol.

the future of the GOP is Trump. More racism, more faux populism, more fascism. Democrats can’t just assume voters will remember coronavirus and never vote republican again. If the economy doesn’t recover or if Biden isn’t bold, there is a chance 2024 could be bad. On the flip side republicans are gonna nominate a Trump acolyte who will have to run on his failed record. If Biden is even half way decent he should be in good shape. Him or his VP lol.

The MAGA,QAnon,Tea Party faction aren’t going away anytime soon. It’s likely in the event of a Trump they will double down on their racism and fascism. One dangerous thing Trump will do is if he loses is he will question the legitimacy of the election. He will leave the White House but he will spend the whole Biden administration claiming the Democrats did fraud. This will rile up the base in a frenzy and could lead to violence. It’s important to not only win in 2020 but 2024,2028,2032 and 2036 and so on. FDR served 3 terms to undo the damage of the depression. We will need that this time around. The economy is going to need major major major reforms.

I wonder this all the time.

If Biden wins ; they will probably have to find a candidate who appeals to more than rednecks

If Trump wins, they'll go for Trump 2.0

Tucker Carlson is very popular among both the mainstream right and alt right.

I could definitely see him winning the GOP nomination, but beyond that I'm not sure. What's the real difference between him and a regular Republican anyway? Being non-interventionist plus somewhat left wing economically?

The GOP base was cheering on the Solemani assassination, so I don't buy thar the GOP base has turned into a bunch of Paleocons

He's essentially a more eloquent and cleaned up Trump.

A lot of CACs gonna commit suicide. The remaining ones, gonna commit, domestic terrorism and force themselves to engage in a Pan-Europeanism way of thinking, like the polar opposite of Pan-Africanism.

Pan-Europeanism suggests Europe wants anything to do with MAGA. They are bashed by other white people with longer histories ...

Basically but he is arguably more principled than Trump (which is both good and bad).

However, if he were to lose, that would be a huge embarassment to the right. "GOP runs hot headed Fox News host and gets blown out".

If Tucker was smart, he'd take the money with Fox News. Can have a bigger impact with the Republican base on the outside than being on the inside.

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
one way or the other, trump's reign will come to an end... either it will be in january 2021 (please let this be so) or in january 2025... however trump's chapter comes to an end, his supporters will not just magically go away... they will still crave what it is that trump is feeding them.... how will republicans harness this rage...?

i was just thinking about what would happen if trump loses in november... he will definitely say there was fraud and the election was stolen from him... there is no way in the world he doesn't say that... in fact, he'll say there was fraud even if he wins... he'll just say they tried to steal the election from him but failed...

anyhow, if trump loses in november, claiming the election was rigged and victory was stolen from him won't save his political career.... but that narrative could birth the career of a different republican.. how powerful would it be to the wackadoodle republican base for some nutbag to come out screaming and yelling and frothing at the mouth proclaiming that democrats stole trump's 2nd term.... that guy would instantly have the base fall in line behind him...

don't get me wrong, i'm in no way predicting a republican resurgence in 2024 if biden wins... largely, it would depend on what biden gets accomplished while in office.... i do also believe if biden doesn't make serious and structural changes that benefit black people, the next republican presidential nominee is going to siphon off even more of the black vote....

i'm just wondering how unhinged the next republican presidential candidate will be... what conspiracy theories will they run wild with....? who is loony enough to lead this group...? how successful will they be..? will trump buy oann and take down fox....?

i think tom cotton and nikki haley are too tame to lead the "trump's 2nd term was stolen" movement... someone like ben shapiro could lead this movement (but he's no politician)... he's unhinged enough...

this is the thread to let your inner lib run free.......

tldr; what do you think is the future of the republican party.....?..
Stronger than ever if Trump loses.

They'll be freed from trying to accommodate his bullshyt and able to be themselves.

Depends on his ego i guess. I'm sure the lure of being in the history books forever as President is appealing
