The Republicans will become more moderate to have a chance to win the presidency. The establishment has learned from their mistake in 2016 as shown by how Bernie was defeated. If the Republican establishment rallied behind a moderate candidate in 2016 and forced the weaker candidates out that split the vote I doubt Trump makes it out the primary.. he only got 30%ish of the vote but because the field was so crowded he was able to pick up wins

A moderate republican can not win the south
imagine if they became a party built on science, intellectualism, and the public good

:mjlol:
You mean what if the Republican Party had actual policies and plans?

they’re only will is to object to any passion the Dems have

:yeshrug: Based on regularly watching The Hill's "Rising" & "Tucker Carlson Tonight" the last few months, the Republican party has to go the populist route. Trump ran on a populist message in 2016, but didn't execute.

Trump was a "successful" businessman and well known cultural figure going back decades. Tucker Carlson is a right wing talking head. Any comparison between them is laughable and while maybe he can win a primary, the idea that he could become president is laughable. Honestly I don't even think he could win the republican nom. While I think this is Trump's party going forward I don't buy them nominating two candidates with zero government experience back to back.

i think it will be loonier and more unhinged... i'm both entertained and scared at the same time... as entertaining as trump was in 2015 and 2016, i didn't think he'd actually become president....

but they’re the same people

These people chose trump, not the other way around.
