What Election Twitter & right-wing Twitter seems to be sleeping on right now is that the real test might be the runoff election. Jake Ellizey is suspected of being an establishment Neocon type (Bill Kristol endorsed him in 2018 GOP primary), while Susan Wright is the America 1st/House Freedom Caucus-backed candidate

Here's a news clip from the local Dallas CBS station from yesterday evening:

Twenty-three candidates are vying for the open seat after Republican Congressman Ron Wright died earlier this year in connection with COVID-19.

Ellzey would have to make up 5 points between now and then. That's tough.

You might be right. Wright did have the biggest endorsements in this special election according to Wikipedia & Ballotpedia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021_Texas%27s_6th_congressional_district_special_election

https://ballotpedia.org/Texas%27_6th_Congressional_District_special_election,_2021

But the scary thing is that according to Ballotpedia, Ellzey easily raised the most amount of money out of anybody in that special election ($503K+ vs Wright's $286K+ as of April 11th) & this is the Ted Cruz's full April 20th statement on Ellzey:

On April 20, 2021, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) issued a statement opposing Jake Ellzey to the Texas Tribune. "Texans in CD-6 deserve a strong conservative voice in Congress. Jake Ellzey's financial support from never-Trumpers, openness to amnesty, and opposition to school choice should concern Texans looking for a conservative leader," Cruz said.

 Wright gotta win this runoff.

Do you feel the same?
Yes. But I never bought into the CRAZY Lin Wood/Sidney Powell Kracken/QAnon/Dominion Smartmatic machines conspiracy/etc. theories. And I'm embarrassed for some the media outlets & talking heads who bought into it.

This chart does a good job simplifying what we're suspicious of:
