:mjlol: Here go corny I wanna be deep ass fake ass woke muthafukkas again. God forbid black folks show any type of happiness or excitement about something.

I aint knocking your post, and I'm flirting with buying a ticket to support. Might even watch it although I'm sure I'll probably fall asleep. For the record, I'm conflicted as I'm happy when when Black folks are happy and not over fukkery. Still, I cant help but compare Black people's anticipation of this film to white women's excitement over the Wonder Woman flick which I found to be pathetic. White women validated themselves as infantile with Wonder Woman in my opinion.

Well me personally (as well as others) am excited about seeing one of my favorite comic book characters come to the big screen.

I was the same with iron man. shyt as a kid my favorite cartoons/comic books were GI Joe, Transformers, Iron Man, Punisher, Black Panther and Spawn.

Sadly neither GI Joe, Transformers, Punisher or Spawn were worth shyt as movies or franchises.

But Iron man was great and I am hoping Black Panther is great as well.

But it isn't always that folks are living through these characters as some sort of civil rights movement hurdle being passed when they make it to the movies. Many of us comic/cartoon fans are just happy a part of our child hood has made it to the big screen.

I would be just as excited if Voltron, Tranzor Z, thunder cats, silver hawks or Robotech made it to the big screen.

I can't, I'm too cynical. It rubs me the wrong way that folks are ecstatic over this like a major hurdle was cleared. Hey everybody, we have our very own comic book movie. Oh great, I'm represented on the big screen by ficticious characters with superpowers. Went from cacs with capes to Blacks with capes. Seeing grown women cry over Wonder Woman on the big screen verified just how infantile women have become in recent years despite so much progress. That said, I hate to say it, and I mean no disrespect towards anyone planning on seeing this film, but that sh!t is immature and infantile IMO.

Congratulations cacs, you've succeeded in infecting Black people with geek culture. Matter fact, I tip my hat to you cacs, you've successfully damaged Black people's self esteem and self worth so well throughout the years that a comic book film featuring a Black cast is now inspiring to a large segment of us. Nas' I Can comes to mind for some reason, but I cant rock to it now.

I mean, I get where you're coming from. I'm honestly between your response and the responses of ppl getting hyped for it.

I wanted to touch base on the geek culture point tho, saying it's the Cacs culture gives them way too much power. Some of the fantasy shyt appeals to ppl regardless of background. shyt I wish the diaspora would get into the comic/fantasy world in a creative factor hardcore.

Ppl get excited by tons of shyt , to me , geek culture is the same as me being a Knicks fan or loving Memphis rap... nothing to do with whites inherently
