:comeon: You asked several (dumb) questions, we kindly take the time to answer, and now you gon act like ppl traumatized out here. You acting like one of those cacs that ask for proof of racism, get it, and start concern trolling about our emotional state. "Youre clearly too upset to have a reasonable discussion" head ass. Now that you can no longer play dumb, you out.

If you didnt want answers, you shouldnt have asked.
Nah I wanted answers, I just didnt expect talk about dealing with shyt all the time in school. And then it started unraveling into Obama, reparations... then I thought about how energized yall got in that hip hop debate, movies, etc so yeah. I do kinda suspect there's some trauma.
Nikkas get in these threads and act like bytches
You're calling me a "nikka" in a thread about "akata" as if you don't know what that word has meant for us. You got a lot to figure out.

Why do you think it is so hard for our non-FBA friends to call out their c00ns, friend.

We all know why. It’s because they (and their relatives) hold the same beliefs. It truly stems from jealousy. They can hold pride and be gatekeepers of their culture, but when we do it in our own fukking land (America), it’s “divisive”. There’s no need for me to elaborate anymore.

I’m a proud Original Black American, and fukk anyone that has an issue with that and/or anyone that holds disdain for my people. I don’t give a fukk who you are.

These dudes are what I call international citizens, they claim so many flags that they don't a true identity.
And away we go...

This is what we call "projection" people. It's when you accuse others of doing things that you only do. In this case, his accusation that all Africans talk down about to African Americans reflects his own penchant for talking down about Africans and Caribbeans, unsolicited. No one has insulted or thrown derogatory terms at anyone on the basis of their ethnicity except himself.

Why are you being disingenuous about this? Really, it can be quite disconcerting to see the unnecessary juezling on this issue. This is especially the case when we all have computers and can look up what an expert's take on the word means.

"The term Akata is a West African term for Black Americans. It is generally considered derogatory, a slur in fact. Okorafor uses the work in the titles of the books in the Insibidi Series: Akata Witch, Akata Warrior, and more recently Akata Woman. She was recently a guest on The New Yorker’s Radio Hour, a show hosted by Vinson Cunningham. During the interview, she talked at length about the term Akata, what it means, and why she chose to use it in her titles in spite of its negative connotations."

Link to website showing what Akata means.
That person is not even a Yoruba person this is what I mean 🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️ Main character syndrome and a victim complex it’s a Yoruba word that means stray cat or black panthers which is metaphor for africans that don’t live in Africa which refers to the African diaspora it’s not derogatory but can be used IN a derogatory mannner it’s similar to oyingbo which refers to a white person

Racism / Race Baiting
Y'all disingenuous as fukk and project with every accusation. How is akata used dummy? Who is it primarily used to describe?
Who fukking even compared the longevity of the Yoruba language with AAs? Stop arguing like a goofy bytch on Twitter and address what was actually written fukk nikka. The projection of us having main character syndrome in the land of our birth is comical and reeks of insecurity. Y'all are mad that you aren't the main characters and that you had to ride our fukking wave to make any impact. But instead of shutting the fukk and trying to build with us, y'all doing this snake ass shyt to distinguish y'all selves. You ain't slick, game has been peeped.
You guys are the insecures oones ooh boo boo someone called me an akata

I disagree with this new brand of so called African exceptionalism. Africans are doing well in the US, sure, but it doesn't mean that suddenly we should have a viewpoint where we are better than any other group.
I know some of my African brehs may have a problem with me saying this, but I'll clarify..

We should be collectively proud of what Africans have achieved in American society, and we can embrace our uniqueness as African immigrants from diverse backgrounds, but it doesn't mean we have to ostracize ourselves from the black community. No such thing as an "African-American" problem. As I said earlier, whatever happens in the black community affects black people of all backgrounds.

Case in point to my Afram brehs; when the BLM movement was being pushed (despite what you think of the group's origins), black people everywhere came out to support. They were protesting heavy even on the continent. That's solidarity. When Africans are being persecuted, I see African-Americans sympathizing as well when traditional media won't cover it. That's called solidarity.

In the midst of this are people who would rather sow seeds of discord from both sides. Same way someone can claim Naija-American should be the same way a brother can claim ADOS/FBA. The issue is when those monikers are weaponized against OTHER black people.

I gave you context you obviously lack. You should be thanking me for enlightening you since youre clearly very sheltered.

I thought you was leaving anyway.

I made a reply in a thread earlier this week
"Africans have so much swag"

Someone replied " Be careful ADOS will be on your head"

I replied "I am ADOS"
Ok, and?

Id say the same shyt.

You were warned that people attached to that hashtag will flame you for praising Africans and go on and endless debate about how Africans "stole" and "jack" this that and the third. Which I'd say at this point is a helpful caution on this forum.

I'm glad you're not as ignorant but if you took that comment as an attack on African Americans then your reading comprehension is something else.
