If I was in Arochukwu in 1750, and just won a local battle against another village...would it make more sense to kill the losing side or sell them for $$$$? I don't think they fully understood that doing this would strengthen the Europeans and make it easier to colonize them.

The Europeans couldn't go deep into Africa because of the tropical disease and hostile terrain.....so the Africans didn't see any huge numbers of whites running around and didn't understand the legitimacy of the threat that was coming. If they realized what was coming, they would have avoided selling us and would have been more prepared for conflict....at least I'd think so.

Listen man Africans all grew up looking to America as the only media representation of Black people for a long time. No matter what y'all choose to continue to believe you are not hated, you have been admired, misunderstood and falsely represented all at the same time. The issue is what you chose to take, it can be the whole picture or a cropped out version. Most Africans I know were busy beefing with each other you guys were not a priority. Not to say East, West or any side is better. I just think you have more contact with West Africans, more history and more familiarity so naturally can come into more conflict.
