i think its the overall style & approach that turns the rest of the country off.

in high school, there was this bul from cali that i used to chill with. and he could spit. i remember i snuck in the lunchroom one day, niccas was having a cypher. he jumped in with kinda like a mixture of a kurupt/rass kass/alkaholiks flow. hard to explain but that chit was hot. but nobody was feeling it. i remember the dumb broads was looking at him like he was crazy. i guess because he wasnt doing his best spade-o/gillie impersonation. i yelled out "WEST COAST" to break the ice. got a few laughs and couple people had the "let me check this out" type look.

thats f**ked up tho. he was at least the 3rd hottest nicca there.

Nah, NY controls music and television medium whereas LA only controls film. Then when u factor in MTV and BET and all the major hip hop stations being on the east coast u can recognize the bias of east coast music and their promotion of it. Thats why if u say a top 10 all time list of MCs u see your jays, bigs, nas, em, 3000 and all that yet u never see kurupt or snoop who were just as nice in my opinion.

there's a big difference in the quality of output from a BIG or 3 Stacks and Kurupt or Snoop

Basically a result of country nikkas trying to sound proper. Only a handful of nikkas out here do that shyt and it's usually some nerdy teenager trying to act gang affiliated. Poser shyt to be honest.
