I was Driving home today thinking about this. Being from New York I'm telling you it's pure hate out here for anything and everything. Whether it be the south, the west, even our own rappers new yorkers are haters and don't like seeing anyone doing well. Most of the rappers out here are still trying to do that Hood project shyt and that's not whats popping anymore. The only way New York could be relevant again is to come with something fresh and stop all the damn hate.

It fell of cause NY doesnt support their own, cats support whats dope or poppin nationally.
So when rappers from all over the country started poppin, NY rappers were now competing with cats from all over the country even on a underground level, street level all that. While Georgia supports their rappers, even if they are wack as fukk cause they have special type of styles that only GA rappers use.

Besides that as far as cities go, I said it before but it's quite unfair in 2012 to compare a city of 8 million to a whole region with like 100-150 million people and more than 50% of the black people in the nation (the south). Compare the east coast to the south today and it's quite close, or NY vs any city.

Actually, 80% of black folk live down south.
