I love walking barefoot I didn’t know it was a White people thing.

I don’t know many black people who do it. Growing up all my little white friends would always be in backyards barefoot playing. Their parents would be barefoot a lot too. In college I observed it too. And when my son was watched by a white woman when he was a toddler whenever she would have her white girlfriends over her house, all of them would be walking around barefoot. Outside, and inside. They were those crunchy white liberal types.
Her feet would look black at the end of the day sometimes. She loved being outside and being barefoot outside to be specific. She let her kids, who were mixed, do the same. And so did her white friends with their kids. They said it’s good for you to walk barefoot outside. Idk if it was or not.

In contrast growing up and as an adult nah it’s not something I seen very much amongst black people. That’s not to say that some of us don’t—I just have observed that we tend to find those kinds of things to be uncouth and strange.

I know I’ve never wanted to feel the sensation of grass or concrete on my feet.
I only walk around barefoot in my house, in the summer and spring.
