The problem with women’s basketball isn’t the lack of dunks. It’s the scoring.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Every year people weigh in and give the same suggestion of lowering the rim so women can dunk and it’s ridiculous and lazy. If they did that girls would have do alter how they shoot. They wouldn’t be able to practice in local gyms and parks. Internationally, they would have to switch up to play on 10 ft rims.

Dunking is masculine. Nobody wants to see women playing with masculinity. It’s bad enough a lot of them are dykes.

The real problem is lack of scoring. And the final 4 perfectly illustrated my theory. South Carolina has been criticized for their style of play. Dawn Staley comes form the late 80’s early 90’s basketball and that’s how she coaches. Nobody wants to see low scoring basketball games. The NBA changed rules just to increase scoring. The highest scoring WNBA team only averaged 90 points per game. And they were the only team to reach 90. 4 teams couldn’t even surpass 80 points. In a league with only 12 teams that’s laughable.

The skill level at the high school level has increased over the past decade, but coaches like Dawn Staley as well as the NCAA stifle them once they get to college.

And the WNBA, plays their season when nobody else plays. Specifically the women's euro leagues.

And as far as dunking. That has more to do with athleticism. Women will never be able to duplicate that in basketball, the same way they can’t duplicate it in a sport like tennnis.

They just scored 102-85 in a 40-minute game. :dahell:

Did you not read anything I posted :why:.

That’s why the game was so great and well received. If South Carolina made it to the game, it would’ve been low scoring. Last year, they won 64-49. In the second round of that same tournament they won that game 49-33. That’s where the real criticism comes from.

And the WNBA is too low scoring. That why LSU - Iowa was so epic. And the fact that you think that’s how most Ellen’s games are played shows you don’t really watch to begin with.

Not sure about OP. But I’ve always thought Dirk’s style of play was more entertaining than Blake Griffin’s.

Give me a 3 minute herky jerky highlight package of Ginobili all day over watching Blake dunk.

Also more inside moves than just launching 3’s all day.

Nah,

the game was well received because they hyped up an All-American white girl on an all white team vs a damn near all black team

and also, the game was on at 3:30 Eastern on a Sunday.
The way they used to schedule their tournament with the championship game being on a Tuesday night did them no favors in the past. Weekend afternoons are always gonna be better than random weeknights.

And if you had been watch the games for 1/2 the season or knew anything about either team, you would’ve known LSU would win easily.

ok? and?

Most of us don't have time to watch every team in every sport. That's why this game was the highest rated ever, most people were watching them for the first time.

They just need more feminine athletes and tighter uniforms.

yes, i know its sexiest. But realistically people enjoy watching womens tennis and womens volleyball and of course track and field.
not because they are better at their sports than men, but because they look like this.

as opposed to this

Its just fact, womens sports are appealing for different reasons than mens sports are. Poeple just need to accept reality and stop trying to act like we live in a idealic society.

I don’t think race played as much a factor coming into the game as it was the two superstars, like Caitlin Clark was putting up 40 pieces before the game.

Not saying that race didn’t play a factor but it became a bigger factor post game.
