Trumpism has mobilized liberals and as a result we are seeing gains in conservative areas and we're seeing more progressive policies being pushed in liberal areas and discussed across the board.

That's a plus.

Regarding trump, these stories damage the Trump brand. He's a confidence guy. Trumpism isn't a cult of shared policy, but mere tribalism.

I disagree, we are not seeing liberal policies discussed on the news. It is just more and more stories about how big of a scumbag and criminal Trump is.
It's not destroying his brand either. If it is tribalism nothing you say about him is going to sway his supporters. How many stories were there about his racism, sexism and misogyny prior to the election? Many and they did nothing to stop him.
Trump broke the political playbook. Things that used to work on politicians like exta-marital affairs don't apply to him.
