suns are still going to try to fix the roster in the meantime. beal might accept a trade. just a change or two to this badly-built team and getting a new coach can get them some more wins next season. im not saying they will be champions in a few years, but they almost certainly will win more than 36 games.
He bought the team in December 2022. Two seasons before that they were in the finals. They've gotten worse every year.

my time table is pretty far out. im ready to give him a decade before i start hoping for new ownership. one thing that will show me he is on the right track is him getting a new front office ASAP.

I will admit I misjudged Beal's value to a winning team. I hated the CP3 TRADE when it happened but still averaging 25,5 and 5 couldn't be slept on. 53 games past 2 seasons is a problem. But even the games Beal did play the Suns were still horrible

In hindsight the Beal trade was a mistake but it was in the spirit of trying to win. It didn’t work out like anticipated.

I can forgive an owner that tries to win and fails.

They should have kept CP3. At worst they would have underachieved and then his contract would have expired this year.

Offense would have looked a lot better.

But Durant doesn't get along with CP3 :francis:

KD just wants to hoop, win and get paid...well since he wanted to do this superteam building, he had to be more involved in all of this. That team had no champion's mentality.
CP3 gave them two things that they just don't have now, a true floor general and someone that brought accountability to the locker room.

Hindsight is 20/20, but they probably should've just run it back and kept CP3 and Ayton. If they felt Monty had to go, do that.

So since 2022 and 23. The Suns and Mavericks got new ownership who completely destroyed their franchises. There has to be something done about this. It shouldn't be oh I got 450 billion, let me run an NBA TEAM into the ground.

The Suns seem like a case of misguided and unchecked enthusiasm. While it's excruciating to experience in real time, that's honestly kind've par for the course with ownership changes.

The Mavs, though? If you believe the theories, it's absolutely insidious manipulation, and if you don't, criminal levels of incompetence. Neither should be acceptable.
