Love how they handled the rich ppl in this to be equal parts charming and ruthless. It can come across corny/trying too hard when writing trying to hit that cold above the clouds detachment thing but they're nailing it here. When Lev called Wilf a pet, you can tell he meant that in every possible sense. He cares, maybe even likes him but he'd still absolutely put a bullet in him out back if it comes to it. That actor sold it.

To them, the ENTIRE 'stub' universe is JUST a plaything where they can run wild, murder people, and make money
:damn:

I'm surprised this show is not getting more love here, not even on the first page. But then again I was also surprised The Man Who Fell to Earth wasn't stickied :manny:

Good show, not on the Westworld season one level but still fun. The villains are more cartoony and story not as complicated but should make the show more accessible/popular.

I was about the argue that everyone in the future other than Wolf is actually a 'villain'...but I stopped myself because that doesn't make them all any less cartoony :lolbron:

H-Town
I know ppl use West World for the comparison but i find it more like the Matrix... but with the obvious twist of the end-users still being in functional "modern" society when not in the "matrix". And their antagonists in the matrix capable of hiring trained killers and mercenaries in "modern" society to off the end-users.

It makes for a very fun dynamic and they've nailed the dual danger in both the present and future space.

Best episode of the season (to date).

I came in to say this verbatim!

First four eps were great setup but ep 5 really brought clarity on the stakes/villain's end game, and brought needed depth and weight to the ancillary characters.
I do like how they added depth to Aelita with that intro too. She seemed and cold just like everyone else in the future but this ep showed in a sick way she's the most human since she can empathize with the past/underdstands the stakes of fukking with ppl instinctively. You retroactively feel less bad about old girl dying to the bees too since she def cold lmao

Yeah, this was my favorite episode so far :ehh:.

I liked the introduction of Bob the Hitman and Flynn confronting Cherise at the end.

Also the flashback in the beginning, showing just how much the RI was using stubs and the implications for the control it could give them.

Was the soldier getting blown up in the opening sequence the same person as the black member of Burton's unit in the motorized wheelchair machine?
