Why did johnny tell Darden that?
I think because he's such a seasoned trial lawyer and he knew that Darden made a huge mistake and earlier he had already said "I'm here to win" when Darden was talking about how they should remain professional. So I think he was basically on some "Welcome to the big leagues kid. That shyt isn't gonna get it done for you in here."

Just basically letting him know that he's around grown ups now and that tactic isn't going to work. The fact that Darden's whole little speech was about the N word just made the comeback that much more effective.

I could be wrong, but that's how I saw it.

I'm very familiar with the trial, and basically minor
but the prosecution makes lots of amateur hour errors during the whole trial. So this type of thing will probably continue on the show. Darden too had several other notable fukk ups, including a very major one.

The scene with Johnny handcuffed on the hood of his own car in front of his kids was really powerful. Upsetting. That has to be awful all around. Your kids have an experience that may or may not be the first time that they realize the world is different for them, and you're a powerful person but yet someone that;s supposed to protect and serve your interests is trying to humiliate you in public...depressing scene. It upset me more than any TV scene has in a long time. The whole way it was filmed, and the shots focusing on the billy club and the gun holster being unclipped...and the focus on the word "protect and serve" as Johnny drove off. All of it was uneasy and well executed.

WTF that part really happened? :mjlol:
OJ Fact Check: No, a Lawyer Did Not Collapse in Court
In truth, Toobin’s book tells us, Hodgman made it out of the courtroom that day — but only after someone commented to Simpson attorney, Robert Shapiro, “You know, Bill doesn’t look too good.” Shapiro quipped back: “Yeah, tomorrow they’re going to take him out on a stretcher.”

Little did he know.

SO HE DID GO TO A HOSPITAL?
Yes, later that day: Jan. 25, 1995.

While Hodgman and Marcia Clark briefed their boss on what had happened in court that day, Hodgman, 41, felt a strange feeling in his chest, and was taken by ambulance to the California Medical Center.

“Doctors found an irregular pattern in his electrocardiogram and decided to keep him overnight,” Toobin writes. The problem was temporary and apparently stress-induced, but Hodgman gave up his courtroom duties to Clark and Chris Darden — just like on the show — and remained on the case as a supervisor.

“He’s realizing that he needs not to hear about the case for a while,” his wife, Janet, told People. “He’s sort of in detox.”

THE FACTS
The TV show condensed some information and tweaked what really happened for the sake of drama.

What was O.J. Simpson like years ago when you met him?

He was on this HBO show called 1st and 10, which was one of my first jobs when I was in college. He was in Santa Monica leaving the set and I got a chance to meet and talk with him. He was really a larger-than-life figure. He seemed more of a politician than he did a football player or even a person. You meet a politician and they have these glazed eyes… they’re engaging but they’re so used to engaging people all the time. He lived a life that few people could live. He was Mr. Santa Monica; he really was the Mayor of Brentwood.

Another great episode, this is edge of your seat stuff.

Though i must admit, i didn't like that exchange in the hall between Cochran and Darden not one bit.

"Brother, I'm not here to be respectful, I'm here to WIN"

So what you're saying is that you won't stop at nothing to win? Including embarass and disrespect a black ex-coworker (current/Darden)? Kinda sounds hypocritical, in the sense of, I'm sure Fuhrman had that same "stop at nothing to win" attitude when it came to arresting innocent blacks...just saying
