Sony needs to take notes. This is how you take a villainous character and make them the hero of their story sans the actual superhero. You put them up against a character even more vile.

Oz kills his family (unknowingly). Sophia murders hers. Oz keeps his ma locked away (in the comforts of her own home). Sophia and the equally monstrous Dr. Rush have her lil cousin locked up in Arkham, for the time being, inflicting self-harm. The good doctor wants to permanently silence her. Sophia lies to her but then has her take solace in the fact that her family were bad people, so even though they're dead, the world, and her, are better off without them.

Sophia is an adult. There's no excuse for these deplorable acts. Oz was a crippled lil kid who told a white lie about his brothers being at the movies. They've done a great job mirroring Oz and Sophia, like they would Batman and another villain, by showing their key distinctions, despite their similarities. THAT'S how you do it.

Anybody else feel like Sal wasn’t believable as a character? Dude had the style of a biker gang leader not a mob boss wise guy at all. I mean it’s messed up how the outcomes came out but I still understand both sides they both went through some sħit that would make most people worse and they still have a sliver of humanity in them. Might be the best ep that dropped imo

Someone will probably correct me with quotes and facts, but I’m expecting this to just be one season and lead directly into the sequel of The Batman with Penguin as the villain. It’s going to restore the hype for that flick and catapult it to Dark Knight level hype.

And I’m here for it.

Yeah, this leads directly to the sequel. I’m sure Penguin will be in it but my guess is in a similar role to the first one, where there’s 2-3 other guys in front of him.

I think you are on to something. But, I get the vibe the Maroni's were going to die out especially with this version of Sal as the figure head. But then his wife brought new money and life to their family. Almost like the wife was from an affluent old Gotham family as well, but not a crime syndicate. Her and Sal getting together she just happened to be more down for the lifestyle of crime than debutante.

This show has over delivered. I really haven't been disappointed with a single episode.

I guess I just didn't pay attention to the picture. For some reason I though Oz was going to be the baby brother, but him being the middle brother. Freud would have a field day with this man. His Oedipus complex killed his brothers instead of his daddy lol. He knows what he did.
