I'll bring that up to him and see if he likes the idea, he shouldn't have a problem with it since he games on a HDTV anyway instead of a PC monitor. But it's so damn awkward to PC game on such a big screen IMO. :why:

I'd say about 3 grand is the most we would spend, which is a shame really because for that amount a desktop with power beyond comprehension could be bought.

I'll see what I can do concerning the desktop situation,I would prefer if he had a desktop personally but he's the one who ain't changing his stance.

I didn't know Alienware had good quality like that, I always thought it was overpriced for the paint job honestly, I'll check them out along with Sager since that's the 2nd reference I've gotten to them.
Alienware products have always been well made they are just highly over priced by atlest 3 times the cost. Sager takes a much smaller cut. Both are the best companies for pre built laptops.

Because his room is small? It's not like he's completely giving up his consoles just to play PC. Maybe I worded my original post wrong, I finally got him into it but he still plays console.
I can just picture you imagining it to be looking like
whats-worse-an-i-911-or-an-i-patriot-act

It's not 1980 breh I don't care how small his room is he has plenty space for a mini it's build and he will get 10x the performance for half the money

how many items can i claim without receipts?

yup...i got all my games loaded onto my 256gb SSD.

shyt is straight fire.
Yeah, but how many games can you fit on there? i know for certain that all the games in my Steam library + Origin aren't gonna fit on my SSD, and I don't have the time nor really feel like I should have to uninstall/reinstall as needed. Only way I would probably attempt is if I had a half TB SSD or bigger. But fukk. Titanfall is already 45-50 GB. Then BF4 is around 25. Two games and over a quarter of the space on the SSD.

For a while I had BF4 installed on my SSD, but maybe I wasn't paying attention to the times, but I never saw it load much faster or anything, tho I"m sure it probably does at least a little. My OS is loaded on my SSD and my pc reboots in 7 secs flat. But SSD prices need to come down before I start putting all my shyt on them. I want a quality SSD too, so that aint helpin wit the price.

I think SSD load times are over rated. :yeshrug: Most of my games seem to load fast on my 7200 RPM hd. On most of my games I take out the splash screens that come up before the game starts. Only game that takes forever to load is BF4.

I kind of feel where you coming from I only put MMOS on my ssd or games I pay that require you to really be on point online, But other shyt like single player games I let ride on my 7200 drive. And yea I agree with Gawd I wish I had waited for the 800 series I just rushed and brought a 780 last week.... :deadmanny:

After OS install and basic drivers give or take some extras you would start with about 210gb of free space on a drive that size I would around 9-14 full sized games could fit on a drive that size.

i've got 5 games installed now.
the good thing about Steam is you can uninstall and keep all of your progress if you want to install another game.
i could probably install a couple more if i wanted.

that's what it comes down to with gaming laptops: you spend a lot of money for inferior shyt. really the determining factor should be if he wants something 'portable'. even a full sized desktop doesn't really take up a lot of 'space', and there are smaller mini-itx options. if he already has some kind of hdtv/console setup, he can just plug the desktop into the same hdtv and use the same controller(s)
