Gonna build my first PC in years.

Couple of quick questions. Does windows 7 or 8 do windows xp emulation? I have quite a few programs that dont work on windows 7 (mainly protools 7.3) and its the main reason why i have not upgraded. I am reluctant to purchase them over again because of the price and they basically do what i need however i need more horses now.

finally got around to beating AC4, it became kind of a chore near the end though.

There's a vm you can download called xp mode for Windows 7. Microsoft offers it on their site for free.

So... I commented in here saying my computer fell on the ground and my heat sink got a little readjusted..

well yesterday my computer crashed twice while streaming my processor was around 80-90c :merchant: while idle :merchant: dipping low to 70 :merchant:

so today I went out and bought my first after market heat sink (thats right, for 15 years ive used stock fans :umad: )

I got the Cooler Master 212 Evo because everyone recommended it.

ive seen my processor dip to 25c :merchant: but with rust open im staying at 40-45 sometimes hitting 50 at the max :ohlawd:

I readjusted my wiring too so my entire computer is cooler now too even though it was just my processor giving me problems

its on the ground already.

I had my iphone plugged in charging with the front USB ports. I unplugged my phone but the cord fell between my arm rests on my chair and when I turned around to watch TV (my tv is behind me) it pulled my computer down :sadcam:

this happened like a month or two ago and my computer been fine since just used to (once a week or so until yesterday) shut off due to overheating. But now that im streaming + recording at the same time its been getting too hot lately. But now with the new heatsink :blessed:

haven't gpu prices shot up dramatically, especially AMD due to bitcoin mining? I think i'll hold off on a new gpu purchase for a while.
