New Intel CPU’s are getting crushed by reviewers. They’re all saying it looks like these processors aren’t even ready to be released. Cancelled my Z890 Extreme preorder. I’ll stick with my 14900KF for now.

Gaming performance is lacking, not productivity.

I use my computer for work, and some gaming from time to time. So, I am upgrading to the 285K.

Tom's Hardware:

Intel's Core Ultra 9 285K makes strong gains in productivity workloads, but it struggles to match its prior-gen counterpart in gaming performance. That leaves AMD's competing chips as a better value for gaming, while low pricing on the previous-gen Core i9-14900K will provide competition from within Intel's own lineup.

If I were on the 14th gen, I probably wouldn't upgrade until the refresh next year.

A couple weeks ago my Pc would only power on for a few seconds then give me the red light and shut off. Basic trouble shooting of the ramsticks fixed it.

Same thing happens 2 days ago but reconfiguring the sticks doesn't work. Order new ramsticks insert them still doesn't work. Gets frustrated tries it again with new stick it works. Removes new stick puts old ones back in still works.

Have no idea what happened but worried it will keep happening.

It could be your motherboard. I had a similar issue with the cpu light and dram light staying on whenever I turned my pc on for damn near a year.

At first I could just restart it and it would boot up and be fine but over time it would take longer to boot and then about a month ago it just wouldn't boot. I took a day off of work and bought a new motherboard and put my pc back together and I haven't had any problems since.

Yeah this is what I was worried about

Could my PSU not being strong enough cause this?

Could be but it would not become a ram issue usually. The GPU would probably fail first.
It could be the PSU is not strong enough or failing. What psu, cpu and gpu do you have?

Like homeboy said, it's likely your mobo

Check your System logs under Event Viewer. Could show you any errors that occur right before the shutoffs. I temporarily had an Alienware build and the shyt kept crashing, even after multiple OS reformattings. Ended up returning. Thank God. Got a much better deal afterward

Same thing happened to me a few months ago which forced me to do an upgrade, classic symptom of a faulty motherboard.

If it's still under warranty, ask for a refund and don't buy anything Asus. Go for MSI or Asrock.

Nice. I can’t fukk with the centered hump tho I need my hump in the back for my claw grip. I had a viper a few years back before I switched to the x2
Man im the total opposite. I hate humps at the tail end - specially for my claw grip style. shyts all over my Thorn. Coating is buttery yet grippy. And the 1 & 2 clicks is :noah:my first omron switch too. Makes my Thorn sound like a white karen asking what i am doing in her neighborhood :hhh:

Is the thorn using omron opticals or is it some Lamzu switch? I hate going back and forth between ambi and ergo but I feel like I need an ergo in my roster
