How long have you been building PCs?

Never have. This will be my first. If I want a portable pc this seems to be my only option unless I buy one prebuilt. I plan to copy someones test basically.

I might not get all his parts but I was planning to try to get parts of the same size and type (Don't know how realistic that is). Specifically the fan.

Sorry breh but you shouldn't overclock those chips with alienware aio. Sorry to break it to you but i9 is a power thirst :francis:
Yeah, I figured it wasn’t possible when I ran Aida64 and my temps were getting pretty high. My 7900x already goes up to 4.4ghz with no overclock, so I’m good

*stumbles into thread*

hello fellow arcadiuns...i've been away for quite some time.
i have been living in the HL mega thread for quite some time...it has consumed me.
however, i have not forgotten my PC thread home.

last week my PC was blue screen of deathing me.
i was getting a cpu temp message when i rebooted.
figured i should probably remove the fan and see what's good.

the bottom two lock points from the fan to the mobo where loose.
the heat sink was not contacting the cpu.
i ordered a new fan and all is good.

have i missed anything worthy of mention in the past few months?
@Ciggavelli, are you still living in tech hell or have you found happiness?

*crawls back to HL*

I’m still in tech hell :mjcry:

I bought an i9 10-core Alienware. Please forgive me. I’ve become a casual :sadcam:

what could be the reason that my PC I've built just restarts on its own after a few minutes past booting up? sometimes it's on for a little longer, sometimes it'll restart at the bootscreen. had it for a little over a year and it has never done this....

Try stress testing your memory. You can try the free version of Aida64 or Asus Realbench.

Why not just get a custom PSU shroud made of it bothers you that much?

The only one available is in Australia for $25, since thermaltake discontinued the PSU shroud, I think shipping it to the USA would be more than it's worth
