Are we talking $1000 including keyboard, mouse, and monitor? And are you planning on trying to use the hotel tvs(Which can be hit or miss)?
I'm gonna need a keyboard and mouse. My keyboard and mouse is over 10 years old :flabbynsick:, if I can even find it. I was gonna use my own TV I travel with it. It's a 7 year old :flabbynsick: Sony. If I really get into pc gaming I'll buy a monitor for it. Unless I can get a good setup with a monitor included for 1,000.

I mean streaming video like Netflix. Not streaming myself gaming. But I don’t wanna spend more than $1,000. I’m not sure I’m gonna like pc gaming so I really don’t wanna spend more than a console. $500 - $600. If I like it I figure I’ll upgrade.

The one you was thinking about

And the one that's better.

@IrateMastermind you should know the Node 202 is difficult to build in if you're a beginner

I been watching videos and that's what they been saying. I feel like I can figure anything out with video and instructions :lupe:. I'm pretty handy. I might be gassing myself though. Are return policies for parts like everything else?

Agreed, I got a node 202, only build inside of it if you understand everything you are doing. I say this because of temps (not because of size/fitting shyt).
Gonna get another for a office/travel workstation or transfer PC in it to another case.

Always remember build your PC around the monitor you have or the one you plan to have. Getting a high end gpu with a 1080p monitor is a waste and getting a low/mid end gpu with a high 1440p/144hz/4k monitor is useless.

I was trying out a bunch of games today, and everything runs fine, except Witcher 3. I already beat that game, but my old shyt played the game at 5K 60fps at ultra. Now with my new shyt the game only uses 30%-50% of my gpus and has terrible frame rate drops, sometimes into the 20s (:damn:). There’s no cpu throttling (I always monitor that shyt), so I dunno what’s going on.

Oh yeah, I’m also back to 10-cores in HWmonitor and cpu-z. I dunno what fixed it.

Whoa. I would be so pissed if I dropped all that bread and this happened. Try it with one GPU. And see what happens. SLI is getting shytted on somethin serious the last few years. My next setup is gonna be one extremely great card. But to me it sounds like it’s another issue.

Are you sure it's not happening with other games?? Sounds like it's specific to W3. Was there any updates released since you last played it on your old setup?

Yeah, it's just that game. I dunno if there was an update or not. That could be it though

How long have you been building PCs?

Thanks, this helps a lot.

Scuttles's Completed Build - Pentium G4560 3.5GHz Dual-Core, Radeon RX 480 4GB Dual, Node 202 HTPC w/450W Power Supply - PCPartPicker

blaine244's Completed Build - Pentium G4400 3.3GHz Dual-Core, Node 202 HTPC - PCPartPicker

Will I regret these parts/builds in a couple of years? I noticed the first two were dual core. I won't be doing editing or anything like that. The only thing I see myself doing is playing games and streaming video. 1 core will be for gaming or streaming, the other for other things in the background? Is it that simple? If so, I should have enough cpu to avoid my computer running slow. Am I right?

If I'm wrong. Here is another computer with a quad core.

schirmi's Completed Build - Core i5-4590 3.3GHz Quad-Core, GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V, Node 202 HTPC - PCPartPicker

Here are other builds on pc part picker that are in my ball park.

Completed Builds Using Fractal Design - Node 202 HTPC Case - PCPartPicker

Suggestions? Recommendations?

not really familiar with that processor.

1. Do you need a monitor? a monitor was included in that budget. If you dont need a monitor, that is $80 in that budget you can put more towards something like a better processor. Streaming takes a lot of CPU processor

If you are in the same budget, you might want to look at an AMD processor instead of an intel. Intel is always my 1st choice but if you have to fit a certain budget, the new AMD processors have improved a lot.

Those benchmarks that guy posted are pretty insane for that build, almost skeptical of them. But streaming even puts a stress on my i7-3770k which is mostly the reason I want to upgrade to 8700k. If streaming is not a priority and just something you want to dabble in from time to time, then all I would recommend is a little better processor and everything else looks fine.

I would always recommend at least 4 cores now a days, even though I believe the new AMD are 6-8 cores.

Smh why did I suddenly lose my OC settings in MSI Afterburner? It seems like once I hooked up the monitor the OC profile isn't there anymore.
