Nah, I can see why it looks that way but they will continue the sharing arrangement with a mostly one way connection to the MCU, like the Netflix shows.

BUT, you are right about Sony still trying to strong arm their way into the MCU and Marvel Studios playing defense with the Venom cameo only to have set up their own symbiote for later use.

They're going to abuse Andrew Garfield again by putting him in a shyt movie and Marvel Studios will continue Peter 1's storyline into another trilogy and secret wars where we'll see an MCU Venom.

These Sony flicks are trash...and while they need to make a live action Spider-man film to keep the rights, they would be wise to not waste characters like Morbuis or Kraven with these films, there are better ways to go about it.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Nah, it's not that serious, breh. It was really just comedy based on general perception that Garfield got the worst received set of movies. Even went with the heavy handed "Amazing" pun and everything.

In reality, Sony and Marvel are probably just fine with things as they are. Sony JUST started sharing profits off the main Spider-Man movies (just 25% at that) with the most recent one, and Marvel kept the money from his appearances in the Avengers movies. At this point, Marvel goes to Hulk levels of pettiness, and refuses to feature him in his own movie again, Sony's probably completely fine with Marvel basically doing most of the work. They just need to make their own movies better. Just because some folks with a Twitter or YouTube account said there's beef doesn't make it true.

At the end of the day, Sony put themselves in a bad spot. If it’s not MCU cannon, nobody will care as much. Sony doesn’t know how to build a cinematic universe effectively.

And Feige already confirmed this when he said there won’t be a bunch of solo movies leading to team up movies like the avengers. Just a bunch of cameos and mini team-ups.

Agreed. They picked a bad time to put a couple of bricks, and then somehow made an even shyttier bet that Marvel would somehow fukk this up.

If anything, this just makes the next MCU Spider-Man movie more valuable, since it's clearly going to be a while before another one comes out, even if they hammered out another deal tomorrow.

Post credits scene from No Way Home. Strange's spell sent him back to his universe, but left a bit of the symbiote behind, suggesting that whenever there's a other Spider-Man movie, the MCU version of Venom is a possibility.
Aight so we got goofy ass Sony Venom (who was scared of Carnage) in the sinister six. Still don’t gaf.

Sony has a goldmine in their hands but they are so shyt :stopitslime:

I need sony film to die honestly

They don't have to die and they don't have to dikkride nor completey dissaocoate from the MCU.

They need continuity and quality control. What's best for them is to keep the Spider-man IP healthy for theirs and Marvel's sake. Wasting good Spider-man rogues on movies like Morbius and Kraven (likely to be just as bad) is not helping the IP overall.

Imagine Sony says fukk it and take everything back. They make a Spider Man movie with Tom Holland and it sucks :mjlol:.

Or what if people simply aren't feeling it because its non MCU cannon.

Sony's rush to create their own cinematic universe is going to cost them in the long run. They have little to no leverage. Sony can take the character back now, but the arc has been completed. And whatever plot they use I'm sure Marvel wouldn't allow them to continue using previous MCU cannon.

they could take tom holland back but what would happen is each movie would make less than the last because of no mcu connection
