His point is that the average black person doesn't give a fukk about the oscars. Hell the average Joe of any race doesn't give a fukk about the oscars.
He's pointing out the absurdity of the controversy surrounding an award show that no one watches and no really gives a fukk about.
And that's my issue with it. I don't consider the people featured to be "the average black person".

indie films and foreign films are typically much more diverse tho breh. Rock was naming the most mainstream of moviesI love indie and foreign films and I was born & raised on da souf side of Chicago in da wild hunnids.
Black folks just need to step out dat comfort box so many of us put ourselves in.
